Akagera National Park is found in Rwanda and has interesting animals ranging from buffalos, lions, hippos, giraffes, zebras to mention but a few.
Located in Rwanda on the Eastern side of the country bordering with Tanzania,Akagera National Park covers an area of 1112sqkm and was founded in 1934 mainly to protect the animals and the vegatation cover of the area.The hilly areas,the swamp and the savannah.The Akagera National Park was named after the Akagera River which flows along the eastern boarder spreading the water into 10 lakes all found with in the park.
The Park can be accessed atleast in 2hrs and 30minutes from Kigali the capital of Rwanda and alslo boasts of many antelopes like the famous impalas in the park with their distingushing black stripes on their backs with the dark brown colured bodys.You will also see the amazing Masai Giraffes with their daily moves around feeding on the acacia trees.
it is agreat moment and chance to see the giraffes walk with left legs use first and right second.if seen running,it is amazing as you may think it is slow motion move with the front legs pushed forward first and hind legs second making them look like they run in slow motion.
Zebras can be seen every where in the park with their ever reluctant moods grazing around.The Baboons playing around on the look out of any food around cannot be missed in the park even around the lodges.
